Shaykh Ibra Fall

We are going to answer why Mame Shaykh Ibra Fall is Baboul Mouridine (the Mouride Way) and how we should get favor from Khadim Rasoul; and for that we must learn everything from Mame Shaykh Ibra Fall. In Jezbul Mouride, Shaykh Ibra Fall stated, “Whoever owes a debt to a passed away person, you pay it to his heir.” So with Khadim Rasoul being the inheritor of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH); the dept that the Muslim owes, as far as being guided and showing respect toward the Prophet should be paid to Khadim Rasoul. So whoever owes that debt should follow the instructions of Khadim Rasoul and show him the appropriate respect.
One day before physically meeting Serigne Touba, Shaykh Ibra Fall was working on the roof on his Shaykh’s huts when Serigne Adama Gueye and Serigne Niakhtar Toure were passing by and carrying the light of Khadim Rasoul on them. Shaykh Ibra Fall recognized the light on them and stopped them; he told them to take him to Khadim Rasoul. They said that they were on a mission for him and he told them to go and he advised them that would be waiting on them on their way back. Meanwhile, he was going to ask for a release from his present Shaykh.
He went to see his Shaykh and asked him to pray for him because he was leaving. The Shaykh told him to stay until he gets the “Guerum” of Allah like those who proceeded him but who are now satisfying the other people and who are requested among the people of the neighborhood.
He told him, “Shaykh, isn’t it that you wake up one morning and saw me.” He answered, “Yes” and then Shaykh Ibra Fall replied, “So this day who will stop seeing me because I am leaving.” The Shaykh prays from him by telling him that wherever he is going, may the blessings of Allah head their. Shaykh Ibra Fall said that his prayer was a prayer that would be granted (Ismoulahi Azam): because all of Allah’s blessings are gathered in Serigne Touba.
When Serigne Adama Gueye and Serigne Niakhtar Toure came back, he headed toward Khadim Rasoul with them. Shaykh Ibra Fall said to Mame Shaykh Ndiaye Dabay that, “Each step I made was followed by a shot gun (Sokh) sound from the Throne of Allah (Arsh). The Malaika (Angels) who were already celebrating, Serigne Adama Gueye and Serigne Niakhtar Toure could not here it but they were saying, ‘By the Grace of Allah the Slave of Allah will be awakened. The One who will meet the One for that to happen is going to happen’“.
It was about the Malaikas Mukharabeen. By being close to Mbacke Cadior the Malaika were saying, “Ku Fi Njek Guen” or “The first over here will be the best”. He was saying maybe nobody is their but when he arrived he understood that the actions or deeds that will lead to being the best (Guen) had not been started by anyone yet. Because the Malaikas don’t consider a person, to be a normal person if he is not fulfilling what he is suppose to do.
The Malaika were beating the drums and saying, “Ku Fi Njek Guen” It was in a unique rhythm that is known as a Baye Fall rhythm. Shaykh Ibra Fall said, “When I arrived close to Mbacke Cadior the Malaika changed the rhythm and started singing, ‘Buga, Ngueum, Dieuf’ or ‘Love, Faith, Action.’” Once he arrived they said, “Fou Way Yem Yafa Yemele Sa Bopp” or “Wherever you stop is where you limit yourself.” And then he understood that this is about Allah because only Allah is in him, and Allah is infinite. So, the only limit on the Mouride Path is the limit one places upon himself. So dealing with Serigne Touba, is in fact dealing with Allah and we should not limit ourselves in the Way of Allah because (Allah is unlimited) and this is the most appropriate understanding.
Serigne Touba has written the “why, when, who and how” of every Ayat of the Quran. And, Mame Shaykh Ibra Fall put the “why, when, who and how” of each Ayat into action and practice. This is a proof that the basis of Khadim Rasoul and the basis of Mame Shaykh Ibra Fall are both Quranic.
When Shaykh Ibra Fall was asked on what he based his path, the Mouride Way. He said, “’In the Quran’. The Ayats neglected after the Prophet (PBUH) had passed, I’ll bring them back and put them into practice to the inheritor, Khadim Rasoul. The Ayats that the Sahaba (Companions), may Allah be pleased with them, were practicing while with the Prophet (PBUH) that the people stopped after the Prophet (PBUH)changed form are the Ayats of the Mouride Path. I revived those Ayats.”
